WM Bitcoin Meetup: East Longmeadow
Meetup #39 packed in a diverse lineup. We told the story of Bitcoin Sign Guy — the man who held up a 'Buy Bitcoin' sign behind Janet Yellen during her 2017 Congressional testimony. We took a look inside the Bitcoin codebase to demystify how it actually works, got a hands-on Bitaxe demo (open-source solo mining hardware), and closed with an unexpected but fascinating topic: the structural parallels between fungal mycelium networks and Bitcoin's decentralized architecture.
The first 30 minutes were for socializing over pizza and drinks before diving into the topics.
About Us
The Western Mass Bitcoin Meetup is on a mission to find and connect bitcoiners in the area and has been growing quickly. We are interested in spreading education, increasing local merchant adoption and hanging out with bitcoiners. We meet once a month and all are welcome to come and talk bitcoin.
