For our 35th meetup we gathered at Beefsteak in Great Barrington for a Sunday afternoon session — our first time bringing the meetup to the Berkshires. We explored the Sat symbol (₿) and its growing role in Bitcoin culture, discussed Moscow Time as a way to price goods in sats rather than dollars, and took a deep dive into Fedimint — a federated e-cash protocol built on Bitcoin. We also demo'd the BlockClock Mini and closed with a discussion on Bitcoin's long-term macro trajectory.
The afternoon kicked off with casual conversation, then moved into a packed agenda of Bitcoin news and education. Great to see new faces from the Berkshires community joining us for the first time.
The Western Mass Bitcoin Meetup is on a mission to find and connect bitcoiners in the area and has been growing quickly. We are interested in spreading education, increasing local merchant adoption and hanging out with bitcoiners. We meet once a month and all are welcome to come and talk bitcoin.
If you are new, we have members who can help you level up your knowledge related to self-custody, lightning, mining and many other areas.
